I guess I’m learning, little by little, that we decide what our lives are going...

Ben tried to kill us today.
50-40-30-20-10 KBS 1.5 pood, wall balls 14 lbs., and pull-ups.
I used a 44 lbs. kettle bell because everything hurt after yesterday’s squat and unstable bench extravaganza on top of Murph (RX WITH A DAMN VEST) on Saturday.
It was awful.
But then I went bouldering at Stone Age and worked on my snatches at Olympic Lifting class.
Life is stellar. I love summer vacation.
Believe me when I say
that there will always be cold days,
but the grass is...
– Unknowingly Strong - Make Do and Mend (via shanexcore)
Best song.
Facepalm.
Me: Mom! I did 4x10 back squat at 125!
Mom: Be careful, you're going to bulk up. The evidence that women don't bulk up is a myth.
Me: Where'd you read that?
Mom: A magazine.
Me: Which one?
Mom: A reputable health one. Lift less weight.
Me: ... I do lots of yoga so you can't say anything, that's the deal.
The fact that I have gone from a size 10/12 to a size 6 and am now quite lean appears to be lost on her. Also, I am exponentially stronger than i used to be. CrossFit, Paleo, heavy fucking weight: 1. Mom: 0.
MAJOR country music kick this morning.
Playlist prepping for CO. This is going to be one hell of a summer.
Burpee box jump park WOD post Murph recovery edition.
Sorry it is upside down. I feel like Tigger today.
Last day of playing nurse...
Grandmother is knocked out due to Vicodin. I went to La Feria, a local mercado, and picked up pineapple and fresh vegetables to grill. Menu for the summer garden salad, balsamic chicken with zucchini, peppers, squash, and grilled pineapple. Watching Chocolat as I stress cook. Life is goooood. I love grilling.
In which I get really angry at large mono crop...
Because they push out small, diversified farmers like my grandpa, and reward the top agribusiness jerks for grains and soybeans and put crap on shelves.
LAME.
Watching "The Weight of America..."
Part 3…the one about the kids.
Yeah, America, we’ve got a problem.
Mom: Do you...well, do you ever think you will like a boy? They're not that bad. Why won't you date a boy?
Me: *facepalm* No, Mom. I don't know.
Top two things I am grateful for today...
1. CrossFit.
2. RVIVR.
I can now return to my regularly scheduled programming of dealing with Grandma post reconstructive surgery and family drama.
Two more weeks until CO and amazing detachment from all the things that are currently driving me slightly more insane than usual.
I am the best freaking grand kid ever.
I have been playing nurse for my grandmother since she got out of her knee surgery last week. Fox News has been on since the beginning. Lord help me. It’s awful.
It's a good day in the gym...
When you walk up to the WOD board, and Big Ray, who hasn’t seen me since Christmas, does a double take and says, “holy shit girl, where you been? You look fucking amazing! Hot shit! What have you been doing?”
CrossFit + 90/10 Paleo + hot yoga = I look awesome in Under Armour skin tight running crops and a racer back.
Had to brag. This shit is fun. I LOVE CrossFit.
Snatch, snatch city bitch.
100 lbs. PR thanks to some work on my first pull.

It is what it is. What will be, will be.
Sometimes, I forget to call things what they are, to look at things for how they exist in a particular moment. I am tremendously guilty of over analyzing the smallest thing. But, when I remind myself not to build entire cities out of things, I get less irritated, less agitated about what has been and what will become. Wow. It is amazing the things one can learn to consciously observe and train the...

WOD 05152012
Wolfpack:
200 m. dumbbell farmer’s carry, 70 lbs. (Uhm. OUCH).
5-7-9-11-9-7-5 Thrusters 85 lbs./GHD sit-ups.
To say that I am smoked is an understatement. Good grief. After yesterday’s double spin class and deadlifts, my lower back was unhappy. Also, to top it all off, after the workout when I was rolling out, Ivy (CrossFit mom with zero filter) was trying to talk to me about...
